Aniline is an organic compound with the formula C6H5NH2, consisting of a phenyl group and an amino group. It is an industrially important commercial chemical and a common starting material for fine chemical synthesis. Its main use is to make precursors for polyurethanes, dyes and other industrial chemicals. It ignites easily and burns with the smoky flame characteristic of aromatic compounds. Similarly, it is also prone to oxidation: although freshly purified aniline is an almost colorless oil, exposure to air will cause the sample to gradually darken (turn yellow or red) due to the formation of a strong color, oxidizing impurities. Aniline is a weak base and nucleophilic reagent, which can be diazotized to obtain diazo salts, and then undergo various nucleophilic substitution reactions.

Application

1. Aniline is one of the important intermediates in the dye industry. In the dye industry, aniline can be used to produce acid ink Blue G, acid medium BS, acid light yellow, direct orange S, direct powder, indigo, dispersed yellow brown, cationic powder FG and reactive brilliant red X-SB.
2. In terms of organic pigments, it is used to produce gold red, gold red G, large red powder, phenol cyanine red, oil soluble black, etc. Aniline black dye used in printing and dyeing industry.
3. Aniline is an important raw material of rubber additives, which is used to manufacture aging agent A, aging agent D, aging agent RD and CA. It can also be used as a raw material for pharmaceutical sulfonamide and as an intermediate for the production of perfumes, plastics, varnishes, films and so on.
