Triethanolamine is an amine compound. Tri (2-hydroxyethyl) amine, which can be seen as a trihydroxyl substitute for triethylamine. Similar to other amines, triethanolamine is weakly basic due to the presence of lone pair electrons on the nitrogen atom and can react with inorganic or organic acids to form salts. Properties: Colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid, slightly ammonia taste, low temperature becomes colorless to light yellow cubic crystal crystal. Dew darkens as it is exposed to air. It is easily soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, glycerol and ethylene glycol, slightly soluble in benzene, ether and carbon tetrachloride, and almost insoluble in non-polar solvents. It's stimulating. It is hygroscopic. Can absorb carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide and other acidic gases.

Application

1. Used as emulsifier, moisturizer, humidifier, thickener, PH balancer in cosmetics (including skin washing, eye gel, moisturizer, shampoo, etc.)
2, Add triethanolamine in liquid detergent, can improve oily dirt, especially the removal of non-polar sebum, at the same time, by improving the alkaline can improve the decontamination performance. And it has excellent compatibility.

3, Used as curing agent of epoxy resin, reference dosage of 12-15 parts (mass fraction), curing conditions 80ºC/4h or 120ºC/2h. Can also be used for natural rubber, synthetic rubber vulcanization activator, nitrile rubber polymerization activator, can also be used as lubricating oil and anti-corrosion additives. The long-chain fatty acid salts of triethanolamine are almost neutral and can be used as emulsifiers for oils and waxes.
4,Used in the textile industry is a good solvent, hygroscopic agent. It's an ingredient in fabric softener.
